AkA AND CAT is an “electro-figurative” platform formed by Henri Sizaret (AkA) and Catherine Vermeiren (Cat) formed in 2020. The duo works on the principle of mutual inspiration between the organic sculptures of Catherine and the hypnotic melodies of Henri. The result takes the form of ceramic pieces, accompanied by their music, and arranged in “islands of discovery” for immersive experiences.

Their first opus, "Résonances Hyménoptiques", explores the universe of Hymenoptera - the class of insects which includes wasps and bees. Through a dozen sculptures and sound compositions, this work absorbs the visitor into the deceptively calm world of beehives, which for some will evoke necropolises, witnesses of a frenetic and mysterious past, or for others will be a door towards the supernatural. In every case, the "Résonances Hyménoptiques" can be seen as a mean to kick in personal reveries and fantasies.
